“Brazilian Publishers” is a trade organisation set up in 2008 by the Brazilian Book Chamber (CBL) and the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) to promote Brazil’s publishing interests around the world.

In the first half of 2019 Brazilian Publishers recorded a 70% increase (on same period 2018) in copyright deals, which increased in value from US$260,000 to US$450,000.

For books sold a 160% jump took revenue from US$470,000 to US$1.2 million.

Fernanda Dantas, CBL International Relations Manager and Brazilian Publishers Project Manager, said,

The worldwide publishing market is undergoing a major transformation, with new technologies, services, transmedia integrations, and a digital generation that relates to both book and reading in a new way. We encourage our companies to face this moment as a challenge and help find opportunities.
