The 17-day Lima International Book Fair (FIL Lima) wound up last week, having seen its 2022 footfall count wildly exceeded, 430,000 visitors to just 292,000 last year, when the shadow of the plague still hung over much of the world.

Sales this year hit $5 million (PEN 18.5 million) compared to PEN 17 million ($4.6 million) in 2022.

Sadly the event has yet to return to its pre-pandemic glory. In 2019 FIL Lima clocked 590,000 visitors spending $6 million.
