Taiwan – Taipei Comic Exhibition expected to pull 500,000 visitors, generate more than $9.5 million revenue

Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an said he was expecting more than 500,000 visitors, spending more, with a figure of NT$300 million ($9.5 million) being touted.

Chinese Animation and Comics Publishers Association secretary-general Roger Kao reported that ten thousand fans were at the doors before the event opened, despite the lurking presence of Typhoon Doksuri. And early signs are this will be a record year for the event.

Pre-Covid Exhibitions averaged 400,000 visitors, a number matched in January by the Taipei International Comics and Animation Festival, which pulled revenues of US$3.2 million.

But Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an said he was expecting more than 500,000 visitors, spending more, with a figure of NT$300 million ($9.5 million) being touted.
