Happening since 2015, the Storytel Awards grow in stature each year.
Beyond the invaluable consumer metrics only digital streaming platforms can know, public accolades in the form of audiobook awards are a growing feature of the audiobooks industry, although some get less column space in the global trade journals than they deserve.
The Storytel Awards are a case in point, being the premier audiobook awards in Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands, this year pulling in over 200,000 votes with 50 awards handed out to creators, authors and narrators.
Per the Storytel press release:
“Winners and nominees sparkled on the red carpets at recent awards-shows in Stockholm, Helsinki, Reykjavik, Copenhagen and Amsterdam. Winner speeches have evoked joy and movement, and emphasized the vital and increasing role Storytel and audiobooks play in the cultural fabric of the markets they serve. And authors and narrators have celebrated on stages and dance floors well into the night all around Northern Europe.”
Happening since 2015, the Storytel Awards grow in stature each year.
Those wondering why Norway was excluded form the list above will be reassured to know Storytel Norway will host its first ever Storytel Awards in Oslo in May.
