Diary of a Cricket, as the English translations of De men phieu luu ky runs, is a 1941 children’s book by To Hoai now debuting as a musical thanks to the Ho Chi Minh City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera.

Composed by Vu Viet Anh and conducted by Tran Nhat Minh, who together wrote the score, Diary of a Cricket, perhaps unsurprisingly features a cricket and the diary of his adventures.

The cricket will be played by tenor Dao Mac.
Vietnam Plus reports the musical has been written

in Broadway theatre style, which combines traditional theatre art and modern visual art as well as different musical genres, including Pop, Rock, and Jazz.
