Australia-based Bookbot was founded by Adrian DeWitts to improve literacy in Indonesia and saw a twofold increase in reading fluency.
Now the project has expanded to Tanzania, where developers expect the time needed to train the bot for Kiswahili will be down to 3-6 months instead of two years, with potential to do the same in other countries.
