The Jeddah Book Fair concludes the triple-whammy book fair line-up for 2023 that included the Madinah Book Fair in June and the one-million-visitor Riyadh International Book Fair in September.
Organised by the Saudi Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, the final big Saudi book fair of 2023 is underway in Jeddah, with 1,000 publishing houses participating across 500 pavilions.
Per the press release, this year’s event has “a special area for manga and anime at the fair, where many interactive activities will be organized in the presence of a number of publishing houses specialized in the field of Japanese comics (manga) who will sell books and collectibles. The special event is held because of its great appeal to visitors of all ages.”
Self-publishers get special support at the event, through the Saudi Author Corner, which provides the opportunity to view more than 100 titles by self-published Saudi writers.
A children’s pavilion includes “activities mixed with learning and playing, performances, theater shows, puppet workshops, fashion, culinary arts, music, and a storyboard-making workshop.
