With staggered launch dates through mid-2026, the distributor is positioning these lists ahead of the peak autumn selling season.

Independent Publishers Group (IPG) has signed five publishers to its sales and distribution programmes, with launches staggered between June and July 2026.

The Chicago-based distributor – founded in 1971 and acquired by Chicago Review Press in 1987 – currently represents approximately 1,000 publishers worldwide.

Children’s and Educational Titles Lead the Way

Three of the five new signings focus on children’s literature and educational publishing, reinforcing IPG’s strength in the sector.

Purple Diamond Press (worldwide distribution from 1 June 2026) is an award-winning independent children’s publisher founded by C.M. Harris, an author and disability advocate. Its catalogue champions inclusive storytelling, featuring diverse characters – many with disabilities – and supporting social-emotional learning in classrooms and libraries.

Harris, who lives with Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease and uses a wheelchair, launched the press in 2019 after struggling to find employment. Her debut title, What If We Were All The Same!, was recognised by the San Francisco 49ers and featured on the BBC’s children’s reading programme.

Pierrot Books (North America from 1 July 2026) is a family-owned Central European house active since 1993. Specialising in high-quality educational books for preschool and primary-school children, Pierrot collaborates with authors, storytellers, and illustrators to support young learners. This marks its first significant push into the North American market.

Editorial Rubio (from 1 June 2026) is a Spanish educational publisher with a heritage stretching back to 1956. Best known for its widely used learning workbooks and materials in elementary education, the house also publishes picture books that develop fine motor skills, language, basic operations, and logical reasoning.

Professional and Literary Lists Expand the Mix

Granica Publishing (North America from 1 June 2026) brings over fifty years of publishing experience. Originally focused on psychology and sociology, the Buenos Aires-based house shifted in the 1980s towards business, management, marketing, coaching, neuroscience, and human resources. It has since added children’s and youth literature to its list.

Granica has published notable works including Elliott Jaques’ La organización requerida, used in Argentine university courses.

Armaenia Editorial (from 1 June 2026) is an independent Madrid-based publisher dedicated to translating award-winning foreign literature from small or minority-language countries into Spanish. Its mission centres on amplifying under-represented global voices and fostering cross-cultural empathy.

The View From The Beach

The signings reflect IPG’s ongoing strategy of diversifying its catalogue across geographies, formats, and readerships. With staggered launch dates through mid-2026, the distributor is positioning these lists ahead of the peak autumn selling season.
