The 13th edition of the Taipei International Comics and Animation Festival (TICAF) recently opened at the Nangang International Exhibition Center, attracting thousands of manga and comic fans despite chilly and rainy weather, per various reports from Taiwan.

The fair is expected to draw 480,000 visitors and generate a record revenue of NT$250 million (approximately USD 7.96 million).

Cultural Significance and Exhibitors

Organised by the Chinese Animation and Comic Publishers Association, the five-day event features more than 100 exhibitors showcasing a diverse range of comics and animation works. This year, the festival continues to accept Culture Points digital vouchers issued by the Ministry of Culture (MOC) as a form of payment, with over half of the exhibitors offering special discounts to buyers using these vouchers.

Celebrity Guests and Promotions

The festival boasts an impressive lineup of celebrity guests, including Japanese actress Noriko Hidaka, the voice of Satsuki Kusakabe in “My Neighbor Totoro,” and Shion Wakayama, the voice of Momo Ayase in “Dandadan.”
