With the Cairo International Book Fair underway, what better time to formally announce the up-coming Venezuela International Book Fair, at which Egypt will be Guest of Honour.
Venezuelan Culture Minister Ernesto Villegas made the announcement at CIBF2025, where he explained that FILVEN is not a one-city event like CIBF, but will extend beyond the capital, reaching all states within Venezuela hence being the Venezuela International Book Fair, not the Caracas International Book Fair.

Egypt’s publishing industry has been exponentially growing in stature over recent years, with its flagship Cairo International Book Fair leading the way, and the Egyptian industry has learned from the successes of the Sharjah Book Authority | هيئة الشارقة للكتاب that there is excitement about and demand for Arabic literature in the wider world.
And while Sharjah has a head-start, I fully expect Egypt to become a major player on the international publishing circuit as this decade unfolds.
Not least because Egypt has global brand recognition, thanks to its rich history, that few other countries can match. Leveraging that brand recognition could rapidly accelerate Egypt’s rise on the international publishing stage.
