This year the Al Ain Book Festival in the United Arab Emirates, organised by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, was spread across nine cultural sites, per Gulf News.
More than 150 exhibitors showcased 60,000 titles, and it seems children’s book were by far the most popular, followed by novels, then educational, history, and heritage books.
The event ran November 19-25, with a pre-event meeting with participating publishers arranged by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre to “highlight its efforts in supporting the UAE publishing sector, and to explore ways to develop the sector with better future prospects.”
