Sri Lanka’s biggest cultural event is a book fair.
The 24th Colombo International Book Fair this year runs September 22 through October 1, and its target is to beat the 500,000 visitors that attended last year, defying the crazy economic conditions prevalent in this island nation.
Organised by the Sri Lanka Book Publishers’ Association, CIBF has only missed one year since it launched in 1999, as Covid-19 locked down the globe.
