This venture is being supported by the Sharjah Book Authority in keeping with the 2019 agreement that was put on hold due to the Pandemic.
I’ve been trying to get this post out for a few days now, but my ISP had other plans, and this post will be shorter than I’d like as connectivity issues continue. But the big news is, Big Bad Wolf finally arrived in Africa this month.
It’s not the first time Big Bad Wolf has crossed the equator, but it is the first time Big Bad Wolf has stepped beyond Asia, and of course a first for Tanzania.
Sadly that’s 6,500 km (4,000 miles) from my side of Africa here in The Gambia, so I couldn’t pop along, and sadly news coverage – even in Tanzania – is low key, so few details emerging this far.
What we do know is that Big Bad Wolf shipped 500,000 books to Dar Es Salaam for an eleven day – twelve hour book sale we can safely say is the biggest ever seen in Tanzania, although small by Big Bad Wolf standards. But if the reception is positive we can be sure Big Bad Wolf will be back with more.
My connection isn’t up to digging much more tonight other than to say this venture is being supported by the Sharjah Book Authority in keeping with the 2019 agreement that was put on hold due to the Pandemic.
I’ve seen reference, but not confirmed, that Big Bad Wolf will be heading to Kenya next, and Uganda would be an obvious candidate, along with South Africa, but that’s pure speculation on my part.
