Big Bad Wolf has already run several successful online book sales in its other markets, and the success of the Sharjah online event may well result in further Big Bad Wolf sales in the Emirates as the year progresses.

Originally scheduled for a three-day run, the first online Big Bad Wolf event in the UAE, conducted in partnership with the Sharjah Book Authority and the e-commerce site noon, has been extended until the end of January.

In a statement on twitter (@sharjahbookauth) it was announced that,

Due to its overwhelmingly successful first days, discounts of up to 90% will continue on Noon until the end of the month, meaning you still have 7 days of massive discounts to sink into!

In other reportage on the Big Bad Wolf Sharjah event it emerged the UAE had seen a 30% rise in online sales at the end of 2020.

In late 2020 Sharjah went ahead with the annual Sharjah International Book Fair as an in-person event, but strict Covid-19 controls meant there was no possibility of matching the almost 2.5 million visitors the fair typically attracts.

But with Big Bad Wolf the operation has already run several successful online book sales in its other markets, and the success of the Sharjah online event may well result in further Big Bad Wolf sales in the Emirates as the year progresses.

The Big Bad Wolf Sharjah event initially was announced as just English-language books, but local publishers have since added to the catalogue. However English-language titles will dominate the sale.⠀
