Territorial restrictions will apply on a title by title basis, so the titles will not necessarily be available in all of the 50,000 digital libraries across 78 countries in OverDrive’s distribution network.

A press release from US-based digital library supplier OverDrive this week announces that 3,000 magazine and comic titles will now be available in the OverDrive Marketplace for distribution to partner OverDrive’s digital library partners.

That said, the headline OverDrive Significantly Expands Magazine Catalog for Libraries Worldwide, Supplied by ZINIO – OverDrive is tempered by the fact that territorial restrictions will apply on a title by title basis, so the titles will not necessarily be available in all of the 50,000 digital libraries across 78 countries in OverDrive’s distribution network.

But it’s not all analogue thinking. The magazine package will consist of,

Over 3,000 popular magazines which will be available for unlimited simultaneous use with no circulation caps. These titles are sold as an “all-in” plan, which means that partners pay a set price and receive all magazines currently available, along with any new magazines that we add for the duration of their subscription.

Also available for purchase under the simultaneous use model is an All-Access Comics Collection which features over 2,000 of the best comic and graphic novels from Disney, Marvel, IDW, Image and Dark Horse.

The latest offering arises from OverDrive’s acquisition of RBdigital from RBMedia earlier this year.

The full list if titles in the package which includes titles in English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, German and French, can be found here.
