Storytel ends 2018 on a positive note, with a deal to produce  600 audiobooks from titles in the 4,000-strong catalogue of one of the most prestigious publishers in the Arab world, Dar El-Shorouk.

Cairo-based Dar El-Shorouk publishes award-winning Arabic authors such as Bahaa Taher, Hisham Mattar, Youssef Ziedan, Alaa Al-Aswany, Ahdaf Soueif, Tawfiq Al-Hakim, Ahmed Murad, Radwa Ashour, Zaki Naguib Mahmoud and Mohamed Hassanein Heikal, and has the exclusive right to print, translate and distribute the works if two Arab Nobel Prize laureates, Naguib Mahfouz and Ahmed Zewail, as well as Turkish Nobel Prize Laureate Orhan Pamuk.
The publisher, founded in 1968, also has three bookstores, in Cairo and Alexandria.

In a press release to mark the Dar El-Shorouk partnership, Storytel Arabia country manager Ammar Mardawi said,
