Back in October the Sweden-based ebook and audiobook subscription service launched in Denmark, and promised us two more launches before the year’s end.

Today we have those launched confirmed.

In a statement telling us that Nextory is now profitable in its home market Sweden, Nextory announces today it has launched what is asserts to be the “first locally adapted audio and e-book subscription service” in Austria and Switzerland, taking its reach to six countries.

Nextory claims to be the second largest book service in the Swedish market, and was already operating in Finland and Germany before the Denmark, Austria and Switzerland launches.

Consumers in Austria and Switzerland now have access to Nextory’s full English and German language catalogue.

In a statement Shadi Bitar, CEO and 2015 founder of Nextory said,

The launches in Austria and Switzerland are a natural step for us as we have a huge number of German books including many Austrian and Swiss titles. Our international expansion continues at a furious pace, which is why it feels fantastic that we have already reached profitability in our home market.

In October, as the Denmark launch went live, Nextory was reporting 130% growth.

The new launches come one year after Nextory announced in October 2018 that it was partnering with Libreka for its German expansion.
