The comic strip’s 2 kilometers surpasses the previous record of 1.6 kilometers set in Japan.
India has achieved a remarkable milestone in the world of publishing and art with the creation of a two-kilometre-long comic strip. This record-breaking feat was accomplished at the Dr. D.Y. Patil School of Design in Pune, Maharashtra, as part of the Sketchverse event.
The comic strip, composed of 4,500 illustrations, visually depicts the evolution of humankind from ancient times to artificial intelligence.

A Celebration of Creativity and Collaboration
The initiative involved a 24-hour non-stop sketching marathon, showcasing the dedication and (hopefully!) talent of participants. The event also highlighted the growing importance of skill-based education in creative industries, with new diploma programmes announced to support employment-driven opportunities.

How much this contributes to literature beyond the gimmick element is debatable, but I’m sure everyone who participated had lots of fun!
