Now in its sixth incarnation, the awards celebrate the exceptional contributions of women authors to India’s literary landscape.


The AutHer Awards 2025, a joint initiative by JK Paper and Times of India, has unveiled its longlists across four categories: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Children’s Literature, and Debut.

Now in its sixth incarnation, the awards celebrate the exceptional contributions of women authors to India’s literary landscape. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in New Delhi on 21 March 2025, with cash prizes and accolades for top achievers, including a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Selection Process: Rigorous and Inclusive

This year, the awards received over 2,000 entries, submitted by both publishers and individual authors. Books published between December 2023 and November 2024 were evaluated by a distinguished jury, including:

Fiction: Esther David, Siddharth Dhanvant Shanghvi, Trisha Das

Non-Fiction: Ganesh N. Devy, Manu S Pillai, Shranaya Bhattacharya

Debut: Anita Nair, Sutapa Basu, Suvir Saran

Children’s Literature: Priya Dutt, Anasuya Vaidya, Devashish Makhija

The selection process involved multiple layers of screening, ensuring a fair and thorough evaluation of each submission.

What’s Next?

The shortlist will be announced on 12 March 2025, followed by the awards ceremony in New Delhi. In addition to category winners, the event will honour recipients of the Popular Choice Award, Best Manuscript Award, and Lifetime Achievement Award.
