The bi-annual Jerusalem International Book Fair will be yearly from 2019, following the decision to combine the event with its counterpart the International Writers Festival.
The Times of Israel reports the book fair, which has been running every other year since 1963, will merge with the International Writers Festival (since 2008) to become the Jerusalem International Book Forum, to launch May 12-16 2019.
The Times of Israel quotes the JIBF director Yoel Makov as saying the new International Book Forum was designed as a
skilled and social assembly floor (that) can be a Jerusalem-based gathering of the publishing industry’s main figures for private interplay and for creating new initiatives and collaborative efforts.
