The French national rail operator SNCF is letting children read ebooks for free on its trains for the second year running.
Kids age 8-13 will need to download an app and then have a choice of free ebooks to enjoy on the journey, with the bonus that they can continue reading after the journey ends.
Kids can also partake in a quiz to win further ebooks from participating publishers.
The SNCF offer runs until August 30, encompassing the busy French holiday period when half the country heads south. It’s not clear if the books downloaded will remain on devices after the August 30 deadline.
The participating publishers are Sarbacane Editions, Casterman Editions, and Actes Sud.
